The leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria felicitates with all Nigerians of the Islamic faith home and in the diaspora as we celebrate this year’s, Eid-El Kabir. This special day is a time to reflect on the teachings of the Holy Quran, be a commitment to God, and make sacrifices as demonstrated by Abraham. We also congratulate the Muslims who made the journey to Mecca to perform the pilgrimage of Hajj as a testament of their faith as enjoined by Prophet Mohammed (May Peace Be Upon Him).
As we mark Eid-El Kabir today, we are encouraged to remember the downtrodden living in penury, show some love, give alms, exchange gifts, and recommit to helping others. This celebration is to unite our differences under the banner of fellowship and love, reflecting on practices of Prophet Muhammed and Prophet Abraham, emulating these values is more important for nation building. Let us all use the opportunity of this celebration to pray for greater security, peace, unity, and progress in our dear country.
May the celebration of this year’s Eid-El Kabir marks the restoration of the lost glory of Nigeria, wishing all Muslims a happy and blessed Eid-El Kabir celebration.
Eid Mubarak and Hajj Mabrour.
